John Sperry - Fulton Elementary P.E.
My name is John Sperry. I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to serve our students and families as a P.E. teacher at Fulton Elementary. My family and I have lived here since May of 2017. It has been fun to watch my boys grow up in RFISD. The community has been very good to us, and I am grateful to call this place home. My career has been a journey. I've been a college football assistant coach, High School and Middle School teacher, college and career advisor for a non-profit in Dallas ISD at Seagoville High School, worked in admissions for my alma mater, East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX, and worked in admissions and academic advising at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. My favorite "job" has been being a husband to my beautiful wife and father to my two boys, both of whom I am very proud.
I love sports. I was a multi-sport letterman at Paul H. Pewitt High School in Omaha-Naples, TX. I was also a college football journeyman. Long before the transfer portal of today, as a quarterback I lettered one season at Greenville University in Greenville, IL, red-shirted a season at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR, and completed my last three years of eligibility at ETBU. I was never a superstar, but I look back with gratitude for everything I learned and experienced in my time in high school and college sports.
I hope to bring the good values, lessons and life experiences learned to the P.E. program at Fulton Elementary. I thank God for the grace of being in this position, and I look forward to serving students in this community for years to come.
